Hearthstone’s limited format has undergone some big changes with the set rotation; what’s in store for Arena in the Year of the Dragon? The deck can take on different roles depending on the matchup, as it doesn’t necessarily require a Malygos burst combo to close out the game due to being able to push face damage with other minions or its weapon combined with consistent Steady Shot damage. Khadgar Mage preys on slower decks such as Control Warrior due to its potential to create many potent threats easily and outlast the opponent’s removal. By changing all of your cheap, disposable minions into legendaries, you give yourself a chance to out-value even the slowest Warrior decks. Dragon Warrior is Tier 1 trailing behind Control Warrior. Elemental Evocation allows the deck to play Mana Cyclone for 0 mana, thus increasing its ability to play more spells so Mana Cyclone can generate more spells to your hand. Tempo Rogue is not only extremely powerful, but is also versatile and very hard to counter.

Earlier builds of Mech Hunter in this meta took a slower, more mid-to-late game approach with cards such as Oblivitron, Unleash the Beast, and even Zul’jin, but that proved to be inferior as aggressive decks such as Tempo Rogue and Token Druid began to rise up and dominate them.

Shaman also has access to one of the 3 hero cards that are still in the game, giving it a natural powerspike above the other classes — it has access to a lot of value as long as you have minions to play. While Hunter still has access to the hero card Zul’jin, he isn’t nearly as powerful, and being 10 mana often makes him too slow. The sheer resource advantage is often enough versus aggressive decks as rempostorm as you don’t fall behind too early.
This allows the Warlock to seemingly never run out of threats, and increases the pressure they can keep up throughout the game.

In terms of its meta matchups versus tempostrom current top decks, Hunter performs very poorly against Tempo Rogue and Token Druid, and is only slightly favored against more mid-range-oriented Warrior archetypes although some experts would even say Warrior is favored.
