Although some of the reviews I read equated it to Erich Segal’s “Love Story” from the 70s which I read ages ago and even saw the movie , I think it has so much more to offer. So though I thought I got the wrong book, I actually got the right book. May they witness a cure in their lifetimes. If you’ve ever wasted time dwelling on the past or over planning the future this book can help show you how to be grounded and appreciative of the present. I had no idea it was there until I turned the page. I loved them all but I think this is the best–this is a perfect book.

What purpose does this trip serve for him, and why is it important that Janet be there? He has a good life, a comfortable life but is missing something, the connection we all long for.
You’d had one serious love relationship in your life and it had stiry in tragedy, and the tragedy had broken something inside you. Well, as the book jacket will attest to, this relationship seems doomed from the get go.
I’ll consider reading more of Merullo’s work in the future, but I have a long list of other authors I want to get to first.
The writing is real, the characters are honest and the language is true. This is a story about the baggage that comes along littlle you try to love someone new. A Little Love Story: There is a line in which Jake has spent an evening with an increasingly sicker Janet when he says “We didn’t talk about our feelings for each other, but those feelings had changed, had moved from blossom to fruit. This is a story of hurting people who both put their hurts aside to seed the love that builds between them. Personally, I could not be on a date with someone who was coughing so badly that they required long enough in the restroom for rolanx to think they’ve left me mid-date and not ask a single question rolwnd their return.
